1. Coordinator, Mortality and Morbidity
Coordinates the Mortality and Morbidity (M&M) review process including support and training of physicians and identifies and presents cases which require discussion at the M&M Committee. Monitors Hospital-wide compliance with the M&M IPP.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- 1. Coordinates M&M review process, performs chart reviews, and allocates cases to departments for review as necessary.
- 2. Chooses, prepares and presents cases for discussion at M&M Committees, identifies and focuses on cases where there are areas of possible mismanagement error, lack of communication, system failure and/or poor standards of care.
- 3. Updates the M&M module in the Quality Information System (QIS). Liaises with HITA to refine M&M module in QIS and troubleshooting of the same.
- 4. Coordinates and participates in M&M Committees and taskforces as assigned to develop policy and system changes to be suggested to Medical Affairs. Follows up on recommendations made from such committees.
- 5. Perform clinical responsibilities within related specialty such as (Nursing, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, etc.) as assigned.
- 6. Networks with Quality Management, Patient Safety, Sentinel Events Committee and Patient Complaints regarding M&M cases.
- 7. Educates and trains staff regarding the M&M module in the (QIS).
- 8. Collaborates with M&M to provide support and timely review of cases. Attends M&M Committees as requested.
- 9. Monitors and follows up on physician compliance with M&M timeline for reviews.
- 10. Participates in implementing quality management and quality improvement programs.
- 11. Participates and attends educational conferences as assigned.
- 12. Participates in research and the preparation of appropriate case studies for publication.
- 13. Provides leadership in encouraging supporting staff in reporting and reviewing of morbidities.
- 14. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- 15. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- 16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
2. Laboratory Technology Specialist I
Responsible for providing services and advice in both routine and specialty laboratory areas such as Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, etc. including updates and introducing new technology.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- 1. Reviews, tests, implements, and updates techniques that will enhance the performance of the section.
- 2. Develops and introduces newer techniques with research and clinical application. Trains Medical Technologists in the performance of new techniques.
- 3. Develops teaching materials and periodically update these for teaching of Fellows, Residents, and Medical Technologists.
- 4. Provides guidance and training in performing and troubleshooting more complex procedures.
- 5. Ensures and implement proper quality control and procedures for each newly introduced test.
- 6. Reviews literature periodically and gives necessary assistance for Consultant Pathologists, Fellows, and Senior Residents when help is needed during publications.
- 7. Performs technical duties as assigned including weekends, night shifts, and on call coverage.
- 8. Review and modify section policies, procedures and protocols. Establish a continues quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA and other international accreditation agencies standards.
- 9. Participates in and contributes to quality improvement activities.
- 10. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- 11. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- 12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
3. Manager, Medical File Control
Responsible for managing the section and ensures staff provide appropriate services to patients.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- 1. Plans, organizes and manages the daily activities of Medical File Control Section.
- 2. Researches and handles special and/or non-routine eligibility cases; reviews and initials daily discharges.
- 3. Monitors all procedures related to the approved referrals from Hospital subsystems and outside organizations.
- 4. Assists in solving patient's problems/complaints; meets with patients and listens to their problems in order to help them as related to Medical File Control.
- 5. Coordinates with Ministry of Health (MOH) and other hospitals in regards to patient acceptance or discharge.
- 6. Maintains and develops policies and procedures related to department operations, Hospital systems, and subsystems; ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
- 7. Analyses productivity, utilization of facilities, equipment, staffing and quality of work of Medical File Control; implements quality assurance programs in coordination with Quality Management.
- 8. Maintains liaison with concerned departments to resolve problems. Develops a management information system related to the interdepartmental and intradepartmental flow of information.
- 9. Ensures adequate staffing; evaluates and counsels employees regarding performance; trains and orients new employees.
- 10. Conducts short/long range planning for department; prepares and monitors department budget and expenditures; recommends employment, promotion and release of personnel.
- 11. Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
- 12. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- 13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
4. NEUROPHYSIOLOGY SPECIALIST
Assists with the supervision of the Clinical Neurophysiology Section, and maintains designated responsibility for
a defined procedural area.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- 1. Performs clinical/technical duties including pro-rata on-call, including all tasks related to the following
- procedures: Electroencephalography(EEG), Evoked Potentials (EPs), Nerve Conduction
- Studies(NCS)/Electromyography(EMG), Long Term Monitoring(LTM), intraoperative Neurophysiological
- Monitoring (IONM), Pulse Oximetry(Pox), Autonomic Studies and Sleep Studies
- 2. Assists with the supervision of the day-to-day service of the Neurophysiology Laboratory as assigned
- 3. Acts as a supervisor during absences of the Manager, Neurophysiology Laboratory
- 4. Assists with ensuring that all laboratory equipment are in safe working condition and laboratory materials and
- supplies are available
- 5. Participates in the development and modification of laboratory policies and standards of practice. Assists with
- ensuring that all Hospital and laboratory policies and standards of practice are followed.
- 6. Assists with the implementation of quality management and quality improvement programs in the laboratory
- 7. Acts as a liaison between the medical and technical staff of the Laboratory. Liaises with other Departments
- at the Hospital as required.
- 8. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- 9. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
