Coordinator, Mortality and Morbidity

Job Summary

Coordinates the Mortality and Morbidity (M&M) review process including support and training of physicians and identifies and presents cases which require discussion at the M&M Committee. Monitors Hospital-wide compliance with the M&M IPP.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinates M&M review process, performs chart reviews, and allocates cases to departments for review as necessary.
  • Chooses, prepares and presents cases for discussion at M&M Committees, identifies and focuses on cases where there are areas of possible mismanagement error, lack of communication, system failure and/or poor standards of care.
  • Updates the M&M module in the Quality Information System (QIS). Liaises with HITA to refine M&M module in QIS and troubleshooting of the same.
  • Coordinates and participates in M&M Committees and taskforces as assigned to develop policy and system changes to be suggested to Medical Affairs. Follows up on recommendations made from such committees.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical or Laboratory Technology, or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

  • Four (4) years of related experience with Master's Degree or six (6) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.

Other Requirements / Certifications

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Registration in MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA) or equivalent specialist for American, Advanced Registered Technologist (ART) or Registered Technologist (RT) for Canadian, or FIMLS or AIMLS for British or NZIMLT for New Zealander or MSMLT for Malaysian or equivalent in country of origin is required.

Neurophysiology Specialist

Summary

Assists with the supervision of the Clinical Neurophysiology Section, and maintains designated responsibility for a defined procedural area.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs clinical/technical duties including pro-rata on-call, including all tasks related to Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EPs), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) / Electromyography (EMG), Long Term Monitoring (LTM), intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM), Pulse Oximetry (Pox), Autonomic Studies and Sleep Studies.
  • Assists with the supervision of the day-to-day service of the Neurophysiology Laboratory as assigned.
  • Acts as a supervisor during absences of the Manager, Neurophysiology Laboratory.
  • Assists with ensuring that all laboratory equipment are in safe working condition and laboratory materials and supplies are available.

Manager, Medical File Control

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plans, organizes and manages the daily activities of Medical File Control Section.
  • Researches and handles special and/or non-routine eligibility cases; reviews and initials daily discharges.
  • Monitors all procedures related to the approved referrals from Hospital subsystems and outside organizations.
  • Assists in solving patient's problems/complaints; meets with patients and listens to their problems in order to help them as related to Medical File Control.
  • Coordinates with Ministry of Health (MOH) and other hospitals in regards to patient acceptance or discharge.
  • Maintains and develops policies and procedures related to department operations, Hospital systems, and subsystems; ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Analyses productivity, utilization of facilities, equipment, staffing and quality of work of Medical File Control; implements quality assurance programs in coordination with Quality Management.
