Role: Staff AI Engineer
What You’ll Do
As a Staff AI Engineer, you’ll define and lead the technical direction for production-grade AI systems across the company. You won’t just build agents—you’ll design the platforms, patterns, and guardrails that other engineers rely on to ship AI safely and at scale.
You’ll architect end-to-end AI systems such as customer intelligence agents, internal copilots, automated workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) platforms used by multiple teams. Role Overview
Own the end-to-end AI strategy and execution for our B2B business. You’ll build an agentic-AI platform—designing, deploying, and operating AI agents that automate complex workflows, augment human teams, and drive measurable revenue and efficiency. You’ll lead Data Science, ML/LLM Engineering, MLOps, and Data Platform functions to deliver production-grade automation.
What You’ll Do

AI & Automation Strategy: Define a 12–24 month roadmap for agentic AI, including prioritized workflows, business cases, and an experiment-to-production funnel

Agentic Systems: Architect multi-agent systems (planning, tool use, retrieval, memory, monitoring) to automate end-to-end B2B processes (e.g., lead ops, customer service workflows, underwriting, ticket triage, finance operations)

ML/LLM Productization: Ship production AI features (LLM orchestration, RAG, fine-tuning/LoRA, structured tool calling, function routing, evaluator loops) with defined reliability SLAs

Data Platform & MLOps: Own data quality, feature stores, model registries, CI/CD for models, online/offline evaluation, observability, and cost/performance governance

Risk, Governance & Safety: Establish guardrails for privacy, security, bias, model drift, safety, prompt injection, and compliance—including human-in-the-loop systems where needed

Team Leadership: Build and mentor a 15+ person organization across Data & AI; elevate hiring standards, technical bar, and team culture

Partnerships & Vendors: Evaluate and negotiate with model providers, vector DBs, evaluation platforms, data vendors, and cloud partners; drive a hybrid build-vs-buy strategy

Metrics & ROI: Tie AI initiatives to revenue lift, margin expansion, and cycle-time reduction; present measurable outcomes to executive leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product, Design, Sales, Operations, Legal, and Security to land AI features and enterprise deployments
Minimum Qualifications

12+ years in Data/ML, including 5+ years leading managers and multi-disciplinary teams

Solid understanding of agentic or tool-using LLM systems (planning, tool invocation, evaluators, autonomous workflows)

Strong ML fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised learning, sequence models, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation design, causal inference)

Deep MLOps experience (feature stores, model registry, deployment patterns, drift detection, online/offline evaluation, A/B frameworks)

Proven ability to translate ambiguous business processes into automated AI workflows with quantifiable ROI

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineering Director to lead Rewaa's data organization through a transformative phase of growth and innovation. This is not a typical data leadership role; we need a true technical leader who can architect enterprise-scale systems, help to drive AI/ML innovation, and deliver products that fundamentally change how we operate. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader who can architect enterprise-grade data systems from the ground up, translate complex analytics into revenue-driving products, work hands-on with teams to solve the most complicated problems, and inspire excellence in others.
Key Accountabilities

Define the data product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap aligned with business objectives, anticipating needs 2-3 years ahead

Own end-to-end data architecture and pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability at enterprise scale

Design and oversee scalable, fault-tolerant data infrastructure, including distributed storage solutions, streaming architectures, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)

Establish and enforce best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and data observability
-
Evaluate and improve the technical quality of solutions, conducting architecture reviews and providing actionable guidance to teams

Assess emerging technologies (real-time streaming, LLMs, vector databases, etc.) and make strategic build-vs-buy decisions

Drive data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, ensuring data privacy and regulatory adherence

Provide expert code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentor engineers on advanced topics (distributed systems, ML engineering, optimization)

Debug and resolve critical production issues, and identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in technical systems and team workflows, implementing automation and process improvements

Build data quality frameworks, including automated validation, anomaly detection, and lineage tracking

Establish incident response processes and conduct blameless post-mortems to drive continuous improvement
Requirements and Qualifications

10+ years in data engineering, or data-focused product leadership, with 4+ years leading teams in senior/director+ roles at high-growth companies

Data infrastructure and architecture (data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouses, streaming architectures like Kafka/Kinesis)

Advanced data modeling (dimensional, Data Vault, graph, event-driven)

Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools

Deploy and monitor ML and AI models in production at scale

Optimize cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), including data services, serverless, and cost efficiency

Write and optimize SQL, programming languages for data engineering, and distributed computing (Spark)

Implement modern data stack tools (Databricks, Fivetran, Airbyte, etc.)
