About the Role
The Welding Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing welding processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and overseeing welding procedures and qualifications. The role requires technical proficiency in metallurgy, welding codes, and inspection methods to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply expertise in welding metallurgy for C-Mn Steel, CrMo/MoV Steel, Stainless Steel (Austenitic, Duplex), and Nickel-based alloys (Inconel, Incoloy).
- Ensure compliance with ASME, EN, API, ASTM and other international codes and standards.
- Oversee welding procedures and welder qualifications for groove, fillet, weld overlay, and tube-to-tubesheet joints.
- Optimize welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW, GMAW, and ESW.
- Implement best practices in preheating, interpass control, PWHT, distortion control, and welding consumable handling.
- Select appropriate weld edge preparations, welding processes, and consumables based on productivity and feasibility.
- Support the manufacturing of pressure vessels, reactors, and heat exchangers.
- Ensure adherence to mechanical testing (tensile, bend, impact, hardness) and NDT methods (PT, MT, RT, UT).
