The Training Instructor is responsible for the technical development of drilling personnel. This role focuses on Well Control programs, classroom instruction, and Technical Training material development. You will act as the lead assessor to ensure all certifications meet Awarding Body requirements.
- Curriculum Development: Leading the maintenance of all Theoretical and Practical training materials and procedures.
- Workshop Oversight: Ensuring laboratory equipment is adequate for Competency Assessments and identifying redundant equipment for training purposes.
- Compliance: Satisfying international Client Standards and industrial safety regulations.
2. Maintenance Engineer (Rig Improvements)
The Maintenance Engineer at H&P ensures that all rig assets are operating at peak Operational Efficiency. This role is central to Asset Management and the implementation of Planned Maintenance Routines for new and upgraded equipment.
- Standards Compliance: Carrying out work in accordance with Group Management Systems and global industry standards.
- System Optimization: Using Gap Analysis to standardize maintenance across all drilling assets and making recommendations for rig improvements.
- Corporate Maintenance: Disseminating Best Practices via the corporate maintenance function to ensure world-wide standards.
3. Assistant Driller & Driller (Drilling Operations)
The Assistant Driller and Driller are the core of the drilling crew. These roles are responsible for managing Tripping Operations and ensuring Quality and Safety Standards are upheld during active drilling cycles.
- Rig Move Management: Supervising the loading and correct storage of Drilling Equipment during rig moves.
- Crew Supervision: Managing the drilling crew and maintaining the Order and Cleanliness of the rig site.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all Drilling Tools are maintained and ready for immediate operational use.
4. Rig Administrator & Logistics
The Rig Admin manages all administrative activities related to the crew and supports the Tool Pusher in Material Logistics and rig communication.
- Logistics Organization: Maintaining communication between the rig and the base, including Crew Change and equipment movement.
- Administration: Executing all Rig Administration jobs and assisting with flight organization and logistical workflows.
5. Derrickhand (Mud Systems Expert)
The Derrickhand is primarily responsible for the Mud System and associated equipment. This role is vital for maintaining Drilling Fluid conditions as per customer requirements.
- Pump Maintenance: Monitoring the performance of Mud Pumps and performing essential maintenance on expendable items.
- Safety Protocols: Leading Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures during repairs on the mud system.
- Mentorship: Welcoming and mentoring incoming Floorhands in accordance with core safety values.
