Third Mate

Role: Bridge Officer of the Watch, supporting safe navigation and vessel operations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Officer of the Watch during sailing, anchoring, port operations, and DP mode.
  • Operate the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system under supervision.
  • Prepare voyage plans, monitor weather forecasts, and update nautical charts and publications.
  • Ensure compliance with the Master’s standing orders, international regulations, and good seamanship.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Mate, First Mate, and bridge team for operational efficiency.

Second Mate

Role: Navigation and DP operations officer, supporting the Chief and First Mates in marine operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Bridge Officer of the Watch and operate the DP system according to procedures.
  • Execute DP trials and task plans under direction.
  • Prepare voyage plans, monitor weather, and maintain up-to-date nautical publications.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, international regulations, and project requirements.

Chief Mate

Role: Second-in-command on the vessel, leading nautical operations and mentoring junior officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Bridge Officer of the Watch and command the vessel in the Master’s absence.
  • Lead the nautical team and ensure compliance with the Safety Management System (AIMS).
  • Operate as Senior DPO, coaching Junior DPOs and executing DP trial task plans.
  • Optimize vessel routes, power consumption, and pipe-lay operations in collaboration with relevant teams.

Third Electrician

Role: Technical team member responsible for maintaining and operating electrical systems onboard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent electrical watchkeeping duties and maintenance tasks.
  • Execute repairs using electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and SLDs.
  • Act as deputy for the Second Electrician when required.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with Allseas Integrated Management System (AIMS) standards.
  • Ensure reliable and efficient operation of all vessel electrical equipment.
